World’s Top 10 Most Rude Animals

From the start, it is essential to note that there are no mannered or rude animals.

Most wild animals are driven by their wild instincts. And while some behaviors may seem rude to us, there are no moral codes in the wildness.

Rudeness is subjective, and applying the term “rude” to wild animals may seem wrong. However, there are, indeed, a few creatures out there that act and do some very mean and rude things.

So, without further ado, let’s jump into the list and meet some of the “rudest” animals out there.

The Top 10 Rudest Animals

There are many cruel animals worldwide, and interacting with them can be difficult for people and other animals. We’ll talk about the ten most notable offenders.

Dolphins

Scientific Name: Delphinidae
Type of Animal: Mammal
Diet: Carnivore

The dolphin is on this list of rude animals because it intentionally attacks and torments other animals.

According to several reports, dolphins have the habit of attacking porpoises, even though porpoises are never a threat to their species.

Moreover, dolphins tend to have mean behavior toward one another too.

For example, male dolphins that gather in groups sometimes isolate female dolphins alone to copulate with them for long hours. (source)

And when it comes to copulating, dolphins are very impudent animals with humans, too, as they can see us as sexually available and as their “bedroom” partners.

In addition, some dolphins kill not only the babies of other sea creatures but also their own babies and the babies of other dolphins. However, this might happen since the female dolphin becomes immediately ready for a new pregnancy after her babies have died.

Sea Otters

Scientific Name: Enhydra lutris
Type of Animal: Mammal
Diet: Carnivore

While appearing playful and sweet, sea otters are actually ill-mannered animals that do some of the most monstrous things among all animals.

Instances of male otters engaging in forced copulation with leopard seal juveniles are reported continually. More often than not, seal pups do not survive such encounters.

If you are not disgusted by otters already, you will when I tell you that they sometimes practice necrophilia. Male otters bite the females on the face drowning them until they are motionless, after which they repeatedly copulate with carcasses.

Sometimes they even hold each other’s babies hostage for food. I’d say they are rightly considered some of the rudest creatures on the globe.

Until recently, I wasn’t aware that behind such a cute face lies a murderous and evil animal.

Seals

Scientific Name: Pinnipedia
Type of Animal: Mammal
Diet: Carnivore

Seals are pretty intelligent creatures, known for having good coordination and the ability to learn various tricks. While in captivity, they are friendly and entertaining.

Unfortunately, the same doesn’t apply to them in the wild.

Seals don’t like interacting with other animals or humans in their natural habitat. In fact, they do some terrible things to other animals.

Like otters, seals are also known to mate with other animal species forcefully. This horrifying act has been reported numerous times, and it seems to be done in order to vent frustrations or, even worse—for fun.

Leopard seals, particularly younger individuals, often sexually abuse penguins for no apparent reason.

So, next time you see a seal, you’ll probably look at it with a different set of eyes. And you should, because seals are, to say the least, rude animals.

Ducks

Scientific Name: Anatidae
Type of Animal: Bird
Diet: Omnivore

Despite being domesticated, ducks can be very mean animals. Some people might see them as rude or annoying because they are always quacking and can’t shut their beaks, especially when they are pleased to see you.

Whenever ducks feel threatened or don’t like what’s happening, they start bobbling and making loud noises.

But that’s not the worst part!

During the mating season, male ducks can behave very badly toward females.

For example, male ducks will organize in groups and violently copulate with females. Sometimes such abuse ends with significant injuries to the female and even death.

To my astonishment, forceful copulations are common in most duck species. About 40% of duck sex is forced!

While ducks are keen on receiving treats and spending their time close to humans or other animals, you shouldn’t interfere with them during the mating season because they can turn into the most impolite creatures out there.

Seagulls

Scientific Name: Larus
Type of Animal: Bird
Diet: Omnivore

You have probably figured out so far that seagulls are quite uncivil animals because there have been many cases in which they have stolen food and possessions from humans at the beach.

These birds would eat anything that moves, so stay out of their way if you have a bag of chips! It’s not a surprise they are nicknamed “rats of the sky.”

And seagulls are rude not only because they’re master thieves but also because they fight each other in a dirty way for a place at the center of their colony.

When fighting against each other (or other animals), seagulls defecate or vomit on their enemies.

Bombarding the enemies with awful-smelling orange liquid as a defense mechanism is pretty disgusting if you ask me.

The good news is that seagulls are not dangerous to us humans or other animals, as they wouldn’t attack if they felt threatened. However, that doesn’t mean that they wouldn’t steal the food right out of your mouth!

Monkeys

Scientific Name: Cercopithecidae
Type of Animal: Mammal
Diet: Omnivore

Monkeys are not rude animals intentionally, but they are regarded by many as disrespectful because they become aggressive and nasty when playful. And they want to play a lot!

Young monkeys can be the sweetest and most affectionate creatures out there, but this is until they have reached sexual maturity.

As soon as their bodies are ready for mating, monkeys are often very loud, obnoxious, and aggressive and see other monkeys, animals, or humans as potential opponents.

It’s very likely that you have been to the zoo by now and seen a monkey throwing feces at visitors.

Unfortunately, this type of rude behavior is common among monkey species, so make sure to stay out of the way of an upset monkey.

In addition, these intelligent primates are also known for stealing food as well as expensive items from tourists.

Crows

Scientific Name: Corvus
Type of Animal: Bird
Diet: Omnivore

While wary of us humans, crows can behave very impolitely with other birds or animals. They predate nests and can decimate populations of more sensitive or smaller birds in the area.

Crows are sometimes rude to humans, too, even if not in a direct way.

For example, crows are famous for taking advantage of any “free” food resources, such as open trashcans, and they make a real mess when feeding.

Also, if you live in an area with many crows, ensure you don’t leave any of your smaller tools around because you might end up without them since crows are known to hoard.

On the other hand, some people regard crows as unpleasant animals because they are extremely noisy.

These birds spend their time in large groups and circle agglomerated places where they can find food, croaking all the time.

Getting up every morning at 5 am because the crows came to visit can be annoying sometimes, can’t it?

Llamas

Scientific Name: Lama glama
Type of Animal: Mammal
Diet: Herbivore

Eccentric and funny-looking llamas are the main attraction at many zoos. However, these rude animals can exhibit nasty behavior toward visitors if something is not to their liking.

When annoyed, llamas can start spitting on anyone and even each other.

Llamas are also assertive and can be rude to other animals, especially those who are weaker and smaller than them. In addition, they can stress other creatures just because they feel entitled to their surroundings.

Because they are very independent creatures, llamas should be left alone not only when in the wild but also if they are in captivity. Give them space if you don’t want to see them being aggressive.

And in case you didn’t know, there’s even something known as the Berserk Llama Syndrome or BSL. BSL is a psychological condition that only camelids, such as llamas and alpacas that humans have raised, can experience.

Cats

judgmental looking cat

Scientific Name: Felis catus
Type of Animal: Mammal
Diet: Carnivore

Cats are friendly and playful animals, but this depends significantly on their breed and past experiences. However, the Internet features many jokes about how cats are rude creatures who don’t seem interested in what we humans might want from them.

Besides, cats can be rude to other cats or animals, as they don’t like being bothered and prefer to have time to themselves, especially when grooming and sleeping.

If you ever do something to offend a cat, expect an instant response. When bothered, cats hiss, scratch, and bite, most of the time without dangerously hurting the opponent.

If you own a cat, you already know it can turn into a pretty stubborn animal.

You are also familiar with all sorts of experiences, such as toilet paper all over the place, traces of urine in hidden corners, and other actions that frequently appear to be deliberate.

Meerkats

Scientific Name: Suricata suricatta
Type of Animal: Mammal
Diet: Insectivore

Meerkats are cute and lovable. However, they’re extremely curious animals, which means they’re sometimes rude.

Meerkats invade the space of other animals and humans, even when unfamiliar with them. Therefore, don’t pretend to be busy if they’re around.

At the same time, meerkats tend to stare incessantly and vocalize their “opinions,” so they can be very irritating when in groups.

When a female meerkat is pregnant, she will try to kill the babies of other meerkats without hesitation.

And she will, most of the time, succeed.

Female meerkats are famous for being very aggressive when pregnant. As a result, pregnant females expelled from the group can no longer have babies because of prolonged stress.

Conclusion

There are many animals in the world that can be considered rude. However, some of the rudest animals include dolphins, sea otters, seals, and ducks, among others.

So are these animals really mean, or do they simply act according to their wild instincts? I’ll leave the judgment to you.

Either way, one thing is certain, you won’t see some of these animals the same way you did before reading this post.
